Tom Daley
Tom Daley is recognised all over the world as being one of being the greatest divers in the world and after the London 2012 Olympics he has now become a one of our national treasures. At the age of 19 he has already competed in two olympic games, Beijing and London and has won a bronze medal in the process. He is an inspiration to many young people. He spends most of his time training and competing and when he's not diving he is studying. He recently left sixth form with an A* and 2 A's. This shows many young people that you can achieve anything if you put in lots of hard work and you are dedicated. He is dedicated to his diving but he also knows how important it is to get a good eduation and good grades, showing that success takes a lot of hard work.
Tom has also recently appeared in the TV programme 'Splash' where he teaches celebrities how to dive. Again this was a chance for Tom to show the public his personality and carry on his popularity after the 2012 olympics. Another hit for Tom this year was when him and his friends decided to make a spoof video of LMFAO's 'Sexy and I know it' video during a training trip. The video got lots of hits on youtube and showed the fun side to Tom and that he is still a teenager who likes to have fun with his friends.

The London 2012 olympics was the highlight of Tom's career so far. The whole country was behind him and cheering him on to win his bronze medal. He is loved and respected by so many people and at the age of 19 that is amazing to acheieve that level of support from your home country. Tom just shows young people that if you are really passionate about something and that if you work hard enough, you will achieve your goals and aspirations. It takes time and dedication but it will happen. I think he is a great role model for young people, not only in this country, but all around the world.
